Grayson Highlands Hiking Adventure
Join us in the cooler Virginia mountains on Saturday, October 18th, and explore Grayson Highlands State Park on a hike with beautiful fall foliage. We may spot the park’s famous wild ponies, too!
Member Status and Registration
An active club membership and RSVP are required to attend this event. Scroll down to the Tickets Section to register. Click here to join or renew your membership.
Guest Policy: Members may bring guests. Please add a Guest of Club Member ticket when you register and increase the quantity as needed to reflect the number of people who are coming with you.
Registration Deadline: Register by Wednesday, October 15th. Registration closes on Thursday, October 16th.
Logistics and Event Details
Where to Meet Us: Massey Gap Parking at Grayson Highlands State Park – 829 Grayson Highlands Ln, Mouth of Wilson, VA 24236
Arrive promptly at 10:00 AM. Look for our Alisa carrying a hiking pole with the club banner. She’ll be wearing a dark blue club t-shirt with a snowflake QR code on the back.
Cost: Parking is $10 per car.
Hiking Distance: TBD by the group consensus
Things to Bring: Pack snacks, lunch, water, and sunscreen.
Lodging: Arrange your own lodging if you would like to spend the night. There are multiple cabins, hotels, Airbnbs, and campgrounds in the vicinity. Campers should contact campgrounds in advance, as some are closed for repairs.
Policies
Age & Health Policies: Children 17 and under are welcome to attend with a parent or legal guardian. Everyone must be able to comfortably hike. If you have any health problems at all, please include these on your registration form.
Weather Policy: We may have to cancel on short notice if the weather doesn’t cooperate. Registrants will be notified via email 24-72 hours prior to the event if the forecast indicates rain or storms.
Cancellation Policy: If your plans change after you register, please notify the event leader.
