RiverFest Floating Concert

May 2 @ 4:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Promotional graphic for the RiverFest Floating Concert on Saturday, May 2 from 4 to 7 PM on the South Fork River in McAdenville, NC

Paddle, float, and enjoy live country music on the river at this year’s Catawba RiverKeeper Floating Concert on Saturday, May 2nd. We’re joining in for this unique event on a calm section of the South Fork River, where beginners and seasoned paddlers alike can enjoy a laid-back evening featuring Jason Moss and the Hosses performing from a floating stage.

The concert starts at 4:30 PM and lasts until 6:00 PM. When the music ends, the fun doesn’t have to — anyone who wants can head over to Confluence in Cramerton afterward. Best of all, proceeds from the event help protect the local waterways that millions across the Carolinas rely on every day.

IMPORTANT: RSVPing through our website lets us know you plan to join us, but it does not include admission to the concert. Concert tickets must be purchased separately online through Catawba Riverkeeper here: simpletix.com/e/riverfest-floating-concert-tickets-259895

Policies

Age & Health Policies: Children and minors 17 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Children ages 4-8 must be in a craft with an adult. Catawba Riverkeeper does not recommend bringing children ages 3 and under. Everyone must be able to paddle comfortably. If you have any health problems, please notify an event leader.

Catawba RiverKeeper Safety Policies: All participants should have a personal flotation device (PFD). Children ages 13 and under must wear a Coast Guard-rated PFD at all times while on the water. Please note that the “bring-your-own-kayak” ticket and child ticket options do not include a PFD. The kayak rental ticket options include a PFD and a paddle.

Innertubes and Motorized Watercrafts: Jet skis and motorized watercraft are not permitted at the Floating Concert. Innertubes and other flotation devices are welcome, but Catawba RiverKeeper recommends tying off to someone in a kayak, bringing your own paddle, or renting one of the available watercraft. Since this stretch of the South Fork River is a slow-moving section, plan to paddle gently as you enjoy the concert.

Weather Policy: Catawba Riverkeeper plans to hold the event rain or shine. If weather conditions on May 2nd are considered unsafe for the general public, the concert will be moved to the rain date on Sunday, May 3rd at 4:00 PM. If that happens, Catawba Riverkeeper will notify ticket holders by 5:00 PM on Friday, May 1st, and we will also email anyone who RSVP’d through our website.
