From the New President
Thank you all for entrusting me with the role of president. I’m really excited at all the enthusiasm for our club and the people who have stepped up to take a turn helping out. The elected officers Ralph Preziosi (Vice President), Brian Swaney (Treasurer), David Stoner (Secretary) and I will do our best to keep everything humming along for a strong club future. Please be sure to thank new committee chairs John Gardner, Jace Gates, and Jeff and Robin Smithberger. Thank you Kevin and Dana Cuddihy (Racing), Rod Gatlin (Bylaws) and Tom Grayson (Trips). And especially thank outgoing president Morgan Mayer, longstanding trips chair (and former president) Denver Board, Membership chair, Lynn Wise, and Carol Roach, who led marketing and communications for the past six months. You can see the Committees list: https://charlotteskiandsnowboardclub.wildapricot.org/Board-&-Board-Positions
About me? Ski racing with Charlotte since the 2015-16 season, and a resident of the area full time since fall 2017, I am eager to contribute to the club. I’m a freelance graphic designer with clients around the world (just none yet in major western ski resorts). I grew up with a father in the ski resort industry, and a mother who learned to ski late but eagerly. I feel like volunteering for the club is a bit like coming home.
Lots of things are in the works for the coming months. Make sure to check out the "Trip News" and "Social Events" sections further down in this newsletter for more information.
We take the summer months off for Monthly Club Meetings, so plan ahead for the next one — September 9, 2019 at Brewers at 4001 Yancey in Charlotte. See you then!
Mary Christianson, President, 2019-20

This trip is capped at 168 spaces. Club members who wish to acquire their own lodging can tag onto our group rate lift tickets which are very low for Aspen ($400 for a 5 day adult lift and $303 for a 5 day senior (65+) lift) and by paying a $25 trip registration fee. Group Air will be available from Charlotte to Aspen and Eagle Airports starting in July. See trip details and pricing options on the club website.
