THE CHARLOTTE BUZZ NEWSLETTER
From The Board
Kick Off Meeting - Greetings, everyone! Looking forward to our annual kick off meeting Monday September 9th at 4001 Yancey (7pm). We hope to see every member in attendance, because we have great and exciting new things to share with you all.
Trips - The trip packages rolled out in May have been super popular so make sure to act fast if there is a trip you are interested in joining this year. We expect most trips to be sold out by the end of September. More information in the trips section below.
Holiday Party News - Some people on our Facebook page, some of whom are not club members, have questioned the board’s plan for this year’s Christmas party. After careful review, the board found that only a percentage of the attendees at the holiday party were actually members, and yet these parties have been very costly to the club. A decision was made this year that money could be better spent for events and activities that benefit more members throughout the year.
That said, we invite your input, and we also ask for your understanding as your volunteer board members work very hard to build a strong club, and a strong social calendar.
Other things we are working on:
- The Warren Miller movie, which may move to two nights in November (dates and times coming soon)
- More great trip information from Trips Chair Tom Grayson (read below)
- Dryland Training program, also run by Tom (sign up now and get warmed up for the season!)
- The 2019-20 ski and snowboard race season, with new schedule posted on our website
We love suggestions, so reach out to me or any board member with your ideas and comments. Wishing us all a great snow season! It’s almost on us!
Ralph Preziosi, Vice President
Dryland Ski and Ride School
