The Hard Part’s Already Done
Every fall, someone says, “We should really do a ski trip this year.” Then it’s February, nobody has booked anything, and the group chat has moved on to planning brunch.
Let this be the year you follow through. We’ve picked the mountains, locked in group rates, and sorted out lodging. All you have to do is choose where you’re going and find your goggles.
-
- Banff, Jackson Hole, Whitefish, and Snowshoe: Still open, from the Canadian Rockies to West Virginia.
- Chamonix, France: Sold out, with three people on the waitlist. Add your name so you’re in line if a spot opens.
- Mammoth: One spot left, a shared room for a single guy. Everyone else can join the waitlist (four people already beat you to it).
Get Your Stoke On: Warren Miller Is Back
Seventy-seven years in, Warren Miller still offers the best way to kick off ski season. Join us on November 10th to take over Visulite for a night of deep powder in Hokkaido, untracked lines in Alaska and Chamonix, and everything in between—from Deer Valley to Canada—all on a screen much bigger than your phone.
Members, non-members, and friends who haven’t skied since college are all welcome. Get there early to grab a drink and catch up with the crew before the lights go down at 8 PM. More details and advance tickets are available here.
Pedal Now, Powder Later
Spend a crisp fall Saturday riding the American Tobacco Trail with us: 23 paved miles past woods, farm fields, and creeks, with a picnic lunch halfway. Ride the whole thing or turn back whenever you’re ready. It’s free, and members can bring guests. RSVP here by November 11th.
Sleigh the Holidays
Holiday calendars fill up fast, so put this one on yours now: Thursday, December 17th at Muddy River Distillery in Mount Holly.
We’ll have live music, heavy appetizers, craft cocktails, and the whole crew in one room. It’s free for members and their guests (21+). Grab your tickets here.
More Trips, Same Membership
Your club membership also makes you a member of the Crescent Ski Council, so you can join their trips, too. This season includes a ski improvement camp in Steamboat, a week at Mt. Bachelor, and a three-week trip to Australia, New Zealand, and Fiji in May.
Member Scoop: Olympic Edition
Brian Dix, a CSSC club member, writes for Ski Southeast. In his latest featured article, he interviews U.S. Olympian Kyle Negomir. He also explains why joining a local ski club is one of the best moves a Southeast skier can make — and we have to agree!
NSCF Silent Auction
The National Ski Council Federation’s virtual silent auction is live until November 1st. More than 250 items are up for bid, including Ikon and Indy passes, Head skis, Apex boots, lodging packages, lift tickets, and more. Start bidding here.
Bragging Rights Earned
Easy mode? Hard pass.
The Lower Gauley was an option. We chose the Upper Gauley and its Class V rapids. On September 13th, our crew hit ACE Adventure Resort in West Virginia and spent the day getting soaked, screaming at Olympic levels, and taking a surprise swim.
The photos show how it went. The bragging will continue all year.
