What Do Skiers and Riders Love About Mammoth?

Mammoth Mountain lives up to its name. Set high in California’s Eastern Sierra, it’s a wide-open powder playground with room to roam, explore, and find a new favorite zone every day. It boasts 3,500 skiable acres, 180 trails, 25 lifts, a 3,100-foot vertical drop, and a summit elevation of 11,053 feet. You’ll find long cruisers, open bowls, playful tree runs, steep upper-mountain terrain, and some of the best terrain parks in the country. Add in an average of around 400 inches of snow each year, and it’s easy to see why Mammoth has such a loyal following.

The town of Mammoth Lakes brings its own charm to the trip. It’s casual, outdoorsy, and refreshingly unpretentious, with plenty of places to grab coffee, enjoy après-ski, meet up for dinner, or wander through the Village at Mammoth. Off the slopes, you can enjoy more alpine activities like tubing, snowmobiling, ice skating, scenic gondola rides, or just soak up the relaxed mountain-town atmosphere.
