Look no further than the Charlotte Ski and Snowboard Club’s race team! We welcome all skiers and snowboarders, regardless of age or racing ability. From former collegiate racers to kids who enjoy friendly competition, our roster reflects the diversity of our members. We take pride in fostering a supportive, inclusive environment where everyone can enjoy the thrill of slalom and giant slalom races.
We compete against 14 sister clubs scattered throughout the Southeast, but most races are held at North Carolina resorts only a couple of hours from Charlotte. Racers first complete a qualifying run at a Crescent Ski Council (CSC) or NASTAR race to establish a handicap (scroll to page 11 of the CSC Competition Guide and Policies PDF for more details). Then, you’re grouped into a ‘flight’ based on this handicap to ensure you compete against racers with similar skills. At the end of each race day, the top three racers from each flight receive awards. Points are accumulated throughout the season, with the top male and female point scorers earning prizes from CSC Sponsors. In the past, prizes have ranged from new racing skis to exciting Western trips.
Our racing season kicks off in early December and can extend through March, depending on weather conditions. While some racers compete in every Saturday and Sunday race, you can pick your favorite mountains and race on Saturday or Sunday only. Compete whenever it fits your schedule and budget.

Greg’s love for skiing began at the tender age of five, carving his first turns at Dartmouth Skiway in Lyme, NH. He grew up honing his skills on slopes across New Hampshire and Vermont. Greg started competing as a freshman on the Hanover High School ski team and continued at the collegiate level in the USCSA series, representing Lehigh University Ski Club. Now settled in uptown Charlotte, he is excited to begin his seventh season racing with us. His dedication and enthusiasm for the sport make Greg a natural fit to lead our team.
