April Newsletter and Upcoming Events

April 01, 2024 10:52 AM | Anonymous

Greetings Everyone! April’s club meeting and happy hour at Sugar Creek Brewing have been rescheduled to April 15th. I enjoyed the past two years as Club President and will be moving to the Past President role. Jace Gates accepted his nomination to run for Club President. He has my full endorsement, along with plenty of experience after four years in the vice president role.

This season, 312 club members enjoyed at least one of our four trips to iconic Western resorts or Crescent Ski Club’s two trips. Ski season is over for most of us, but the Western resorts are still getting snow.

Remember to support our club sponsors, who provide great services and are a wealth of information. Thank you for your membership, and I look forward to having a great time together at meetings, events, and trips!

~ Tom Grayson, Club President

Happy Hour and Club Meeting

Join us for a happy hour and our April club meeting at Sugar Creek Brewing on Monday, April 15th. Happy hour starts at 5:30 pm at the bar, and we’ll move to the event room at 6:30 pm.

We planned to vote on club officers in person, but will email members an electronic poll on Thursday, April 4th instead since our meeting was rescheduled. Please vote by Thursday, April 11th so we can meet our quorum.

Thank you to Jace Gates, John Gardner, David Stoner, and Mary Christianson for accepting their nominations and everything they do for our club. Log in to the member portal here to read their bios

Club Food Drives

Did you know we collect canned goods for Cooperative Christian Ministry’s food relief programs at our club meetings and local events? We dropped off 74 pounds of food from our January, February, and March events. Thank you to everyone who donated!

Donate two items to boost your door prize odds with an extra ticket. Or better yet, bring four items, and you’ll receive two extra tickets! They have specifically requested these high-need items:

  • 15 oz no salt added canned beans and vegetables
  • 15 oz no sugar added canned fruit
  •  5 oz canned tuna in water

Volunteer Opportunities

It takes a group effort to organize our trips, events, and socials. Consider joining a committee so we can do even more in the future. Contact one of the volunteers who served on our nominating committee to learn more.
