Escape the heat and head to the Jefferson mountains of Western North Carolina! Join us for a relaxing float down the New River with Zaloo’s Canoes on Saturday, August 23rd. Let the gentle flow carry you downstream as you unwind, chat with friends, and take in the beautiful scenery.
Member Status & Registration
An active club membership and RSVP is required to attend this event. Members may bring guests. Provide their name and contact information (including an emergency contact) when you register.

Registration Deadline: Click the blue "Register" button at the top of this page and complete the short form by Friday, August 15th. Registration closes on Saturday, August 16h.
Arrival Time
Show up promptly at 12:30 PM. We will pay and sign waivers before the 1:00 PM float.
How to Find Us
Look for Alisa in a dark blue Charlotte Ski and Snowboard club t-shirt with a snowflake QR code on the back.
What to Bring
Bring water shoes, sunscreen, a hat, sunglasses, water, snacks, and towel. You may want a change of clothes for the ride home, bug spray, and a dry bag for your phone, too.
Tubing Fees
Fees are paid directly to Zaloo’s Canoes the day of the float:
- Adult Tube (anyone over 70 lbs): $20
- Child Tube (age 10 and under): $15
- Cooler Tube (holds a personal cooler 24x16 inches or less and up to 100 lbs): $15
Age & Health Restrictions
Minors must (ages 17 and under) must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
You must be able to comfortably float in the tube down the river. Let the event leader know if you have any specific health needs.
Weather Permitting
Our float may be canceled if the weather forecast predicts rain or storms. If we have to cancel, you will be notified via email or text within 24-72 hours of the event.
